Statutory objectives rooted in health protection, social welfare, and combating the effects of COVID-19.
The following objectives are formally established in the foundation's statutes and define the scope of all its activities. They are published here in full as part of the foundation's commitment to transparency.
"The statutory objectives of the foundation are socially useful activities in the following areas: health protection and social assistance as well as in the field of physical culture and sports, in particular medical activities consisting in counteracting COVID-19, which is understood as all activities related to combating the effects, including socio-economic effects, of the infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) and other similar effects."
The foundation pursues activities that protect the health of individuals and communities. This includes supporting preventive healthcare, health education, and coordinating responses to public health emergencies — with COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 as the primary focus area established in the foundation's statutes.
FUNDACJA AZAP provides and facilitates social assistance to those whose lives have been disrupted by health crises. This encompasses support for individuals, families, and vulnerable groups facing economic hardship, isolation, or reduced access to services as a direct or indirect result of COVID-19 and similar events.
Recognising the vital role of physical activity in overall health, the foundation actively promotes physical culture and sports participation. These efforts contribute to community resilience, improved mental health, and a healthier population better equipped to withstand future health challenges.
A core statutory objective is the undertaking of medical activities specifically directed at counteracting COVID-19. This is defined broadly to include all activities related to combating the effects — including the socio-economic effects — of the infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as well as other similar infectious diseases and their consequences.
The foundation's statutes specifically identify COVID-19 response as a central pillar of its work. The scope is deliberately broad, capturing not just direct medical interventions but the full spectrum of consequences that flow from an infectious disease pandemic.
This includes:
By addressing both the immediate health dimension and the longer-term social and economic fallout, FUNDACJA AZAP takes a holistic approach to pandemic response that goes beyond clinical care alone.
The COVID-19 pandemic exposed deep vulnerabilities in health systems, economies, and communities. FUNDACJA AZAP was founded specifically to help address these challenges.
The pandemic placed extraordinary strain on healthcare systems. The foundation works to support and supplement formal healthcare capacity, especially in underserved communities.
Lockdowns, job losses, and business closures created widespread economic suffering. The foundation's social assistance mandate directly addresses these consequences.
By promoting physical culture alongside health protection, FUNDACJA AZAP invests in the long-term resilience of communities — building capacity to withstand future crises.
